Job summary

BNY is seeking a Vice President to lead the SOX & ICFR team in Manchester, driving end-to-end delivery of SOX and internal controls workstreams. You will coordinate risk assessments, control documentation, and audit readiness, while partnering with control owners and auditors to ensure timely testing and remediation where needed.

The role requires strong SOX/ICFR knowledge, experience with walkthroughs and testing, and the ability to guide Senior Associates and junior staff.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of SOX and ICFR in a regulated environment.
• Experience in SOX testing, internal/external audits, and finance controls.
• Ability to document processes, test controls, and manage multiple workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end delivery of assigned SOX and ICFR workstreams, including planning, walkthroughs, testing, issue tracking, and reporting against milestones.
• Lead risk assessments to identify significant processes, key controls, and potential changes impacting financial reporting risk.
• Refresh narratives, risk and control matrices, flowcharts, and control inventories; ensure audit readiness.
• Evaluate design and operating effectiveness of key SOX controls; review evidence and analyze exceptions.
• Coordinate with control owners to obtain evidence, schedule walkthroughs, and support testing activities.
• Identify control gaps, assess impact, and support remediation planning and validation of actions.
• Serve as primary liaison for internal and external auditors; ensure clear communication and high-quality support.
• Prepare concise updates on progress, risks, and remediation status for management.
