Job summary

BNY in Manchester seeks a Senior Specialist, SOX Control & Compliance to support SOX/ICFR programmes, document controls, and manage evidence for audits. You will interact with control owners, track remediation, and help maintain a strong financial controls environment across processes.

The role requires solid SOX/ICFR experience, strong documentation and analytical skills, and the ability to work with stakeholders in a fast-paced financial services setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in SOX testing, ICFR, or finance controls in banking/financial services.
• Ability to document processes clearly, analyse evidence and perform testing.
• Strong organisational and deadline management in a structured environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Proficiency with data, spreadsheets and system-generated reports.

Responsibilities

• Execute SOX and ICFR testing in line with approved methodology.
• Refresh process narratives, risk/control matrices and flowcharts.
• Participate in walkthroughs with control owners to document processes.
• Test design and operating effectiveness of key controls and document results.
• Track evidence requests and maintain organised records for audit readiness.
• Identify exceptions and raise control concerns promptly for review.
• Support remediation tracking and validate closure evidence.
• Collaborate with business partners to support programme delivery.
• Contribute to process improvements and standardisation efforts.
