Galaxy is seeking a VP, Senior Backend Developer to lead backend engineering for blockchain infrastructure in London. You will own end-to-end backend design, APIs, Ethereum data pipelines, and staking infrastructure, while shaping architecture and engineering culture.

The role emphasizes ownership, high performance, and collaboration across remote teams, with hybrid working arrangements and focus on AI-assisted development and scalable systems.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience building backend systems in Golang.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and blockchain.
• Experience with cloud-native infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes, Helm, GitOps).
• Strong testing practices for complex and stateful systems.
• Experience working in remote, asynchronous teams.
• High agency and accountability; ownership of end-to-end work.

Responsibilities

• Build and own backend systems powering blockchain infrastructure and staking products.
• Design APIs, services, Ethereum data pipelines and indexers, and monitoring tooling.
• Own system design end-to-end: architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, observability.
• Collaborate across Ethereum stack with execution and consensus layer clients.
• Define and uphold engineering standards for reliability, security, and testing.
• Leverage AI-assisted workflows and evolve development practices.
