Job summary

Morgan Stanley in London seeks a Vice President-level Sanctions Compliance Officer to join Global Financial Crimes in the Legal & Compliance division. You will oversee the Economic Sanctions Programme, coordinate with GFC teams, and ensure compliance with OFAC, OFSI, UNSC, and EU sanctions across EMEA.

The role requires strong analytical skills, independent work style, and ability to train staff on sanctions requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in sanctions/compliance.
Detailed understanding of sanctions laws and programs across EMEA, OFAC, OFSI, UNSC, EU Council.
ACAMS certification or equivalent AML qualification within 15 months of employment.

Responsibilities

Develop and oversee the Firm's Economic Sanctions Compliance Programme.
Address sanctions queries from risk, business and operations groups.
Provide written and verbal risk communications to lines of business; review sensitive client/transaction data.
Track regulatory changes and implement updated procedures and enhanced due diligence.
Advise on risk-based processes and controls for economic sanctions compliance.
Create and deliver sanctions training for internal audiences and firm-wide modules.
Coordinate Economic Sanctions Risk Assessments with Risk Assessment team.
Assist with regulatory exams, inquiries and audits including document productions.
