Job summary

Mizuho EMEA is seeking an experienced CIB Credit Risk professional to join the EMEA risk team in London. You will analyse project finance proposals across sectors such as power, infrastructure and real assets, and prepare credit recommendations for senior management.

The role demands advanced cash flow modelling, strong writing and presentation skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a cross-cultural environment. Hybrid working and a competitive package are on offer.

Qualifications

• Advanced credit analysis and research skills (including cash flow analysis and financial modelling).
• Experience lending to and analysing project finance propositions in the EMEA region.
• Willingness to expand responsibility across infrastructure and real estate finance.
• Strong understanding of financial markets and ability to interpret balance sheets, P&L and cash flows.
• Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work under time pressure and across cultures.
• Degree educated with quick learning ability.
• Previous formal credit control or credit/accountancy training.
• Experience lending into emerging markets (Eastern Europe, Middle East, Russia, Africa).
• Knowledge of EMEA regulatory systems and rating methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Carry out thorough credit and rating analyses for new transactions and restructurings in project finance.
• Prepare reports and recommendations for Senior Management to support credit judgments.
• Monitor developments across sectors and flag major risk factors to Senior Management.
• Conduct regular and ad-hoc credit reviews and internal rating assessments.
• Liaise with front office on all credit-related matters and support portfolio management.
