Job summary

EC1 Partners in London seeks a VP of Engineering to shape the technical vision and lead a global engineering function. You’ll steer a 20–25 software engineer team, owning planning, architecture, and delivery of enterprise-grade SaaS platforms.

You’ll partner with Product and senior stakeholders to translate business goals into technology initiatives, while maturing Agile practices and driving platform modernization in a FinTech context.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ software engineering experience with leadership.
• Track record leading teams for enterprise-grade software products.
• Experience scaling multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
• Strong software architecture and system design expertise.
• Experience building complex, highly scalable cloud-based apps.
• Solid knowledge of the AWS ecosystem.
• Experience with modern full-stack tech and UI frameworks such as React.
• Exposure to functional programming languages is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of APIs, including REST and JSON.
• Experience improving and scaling Agile engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead a global, full-stack engineering team of 20–25 engineers.
• Own software development across planning, architecture, implementation, QA and operations.
• Define and execute engineering strategy as the platform scales.
• Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team with clear quality standards.
• Evolve platforms while delivering an ambitious product roadmap.
• Drive development of robust, reliable SaaS solutions.
• Partner with Product and senior stakeholders to translate business goals into tech initiatives.
• Champion UI/UX engineering and improve usability of enterprise apps.
• Mature Agile practices and development processes.
• Provide architectural leadership while guiding engineering decisions.
