Job summary

JPMorgan Chase’s IPB AIML team invites an Applied AI ML Lead - VP to translate business problems into scalable AI solutions and deliver production-grade services with measurable impact.

You will own end-to-end IPB AI/ML use cases, guide engineers, establish AI guardrails, and collaborate with senior stakeholders globally to drive strategic AI initiatives.

Strong Python, ML production experience, and cloud-native deployment knowledge are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and expert applied experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and modern software engineering practices (testing, design patterns, code review, version control).
• Fluent with AI coding tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) as a core part of day-to-day software development.
• Hands-on experience building, evaluating, and deploying machine learning models into production.
• Practical experience with Large Language Models, including prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning, agentic frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability for ML or data-intensive systems.
• Strong communication skills with confidence engaging senior business stakeholders and translating technical concepts.
• Experience applying new methods to solve complex technology problems across multiple technical disciplines.
• MSc in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related quantitative field.

Responsibilities

• Owns end-to-end delivery of priority IPB AI/ML use cases, from framing to deployed production services.
• Leads engineering build of agentic AI and LLM-powered products for IPB advisors and clients.
• Sets engineering quality bar via code reviews, design, and pairing with peers.
• Establishes and operates Responsible AI controls (guardrails, observability, model risk controls).
• Acts as primary technical partner to IPB stakeholders, surfacing AI/ML opportunities and shaping funded workstreams.
• Represents AIML team in governance and forums; ensures regulatory and data-privacy considerations are reflected.
• Contributes to GenAI education through training content and mentoring.
• Champions diversity and inclusion within the team.
