Job summary

State Street Investment Management seeks an Insurance Strategist, VP, to join its insurance centre of excellence. You will collaborate with global teams to shape strategy, engage with insurance clients across Europe, and translate industry challenges into investment insights.

The role focuses on developing investment solutions across fixed income, ETFs, and portfolio structures, supporting RFIs/RFPs, and building trusted relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree and/or professional qualifications advantageous.
• Approximately 5–10 years of experience in asset management, insurance asset management, investment consulting, or related financial services role.
• Strong understanding of insurance regulatory, capital, accounting, and investment frameworks.
• Experience engaging with insurance companies, consultants, or other institutional investors on investment strategy, asset allocation, portfolio construction, or related topics.
• Knowledge of insurance investment portfolios and insurer-specific use cases for investment solutions, including fixed income, ETFs, portfolio solutions, and alternative asset classes.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex investment concepts to a range of audiences, including senior client stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities, combined with commercial awareness and a solutions-oriented mindset.
• Based in London, with the ability to travel occasionally within Europe and internationally, depending on business needs.
• Additional language skills, particularly German or French, would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of the insurance strategy across Europe and international markets, identifying opportunities and growing the insurance business.
• Develop understanding of client needs, regulatory developments, and investment considerations, translating insights into client opportunities.
• Contribute to development of investment solutions and portfolio structures considering regulatory, capital, accounting, and investment factors.
• Support RFIs, RFPs, and other business development initiatives with insurance market expertise and insights.
• Build partnerships with portfolio management, product, and investment teams to stay aligned on capabilities across fixed income, ETFs, and portfolio solutions.
