Job description

The Opportunity

A rapidly growing, private equity-backed technology business is looking to appoint a senior VP, FP&A to play a key role in supporting the next stage of the Group's growth.

Reporting directly to the CFO and working closely with the COO and senior leadership team, this is a highly commercial role with responsibility for driving the Group's planning, performance management and financial decision-making agenda.

The role goes well beyond traditional FP&A. You'll be responsible for owning the budgeting and forecasting process, driving performance across the wider business, supporting strategic investment decisions and providing commercial insight to senior leadership.

You'll work closely with business unit leaders, challenging performance, identifying opportunities and helping ensure capital and resources are being allocated effectively.

The business operates in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with senior stakeholders, influencing decisions and building scalable FP&A processes in a business undergoing significant change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the Group budgeting, forecasting and planning processes, ensuring they provide clear and actionable insight.
  • Partner closely with the CFO and COO on Group-wide financial planning and commercial decision-making.
  • Lead regular performance reviews with Managing Directors, challenging performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide senior leadership with clear analysis of financial and operational performance, translating data into commercially relevant actions.
  • Partner with business leaders on budget allocation, headcount planning, investment decisions and resource allocation.
  • Support the CFO and wider leadership team with capital allocation and funding decisions.
  • Provide financial analysis and commercial support around M&A, strategic investments and post-acquisition integration.
  • Support the integration of new businesses into Group budgets, forecasts, reporting and performance management processes.
  • Develop and improve management reporting, dashboards and performance metrics across the Group.
  • Work closely with business leaders to understand the key drivers of performance and identify opportunities to improve growth, profitability and efficiency.
  • Evaluate the financial returns of strategic initiatives, including technology, AI, hiring and commercial investments.
  • Support cash flow, liquidity, debt and covenant analysis alongside the CFO.
  • Drive continuous improvement across FP&A processes, reporting and financial systems.
  • Help develop a scalable, commercially focused FP&A function capable of supporting continued growth.

About You

We're looking for a commercially minded FP&A leader who can operate comfortably at senior level and influence business decisions beyond the finance function.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Significant experience in FP&A leadership, ideally within a high-growth, technology, SaaS or PE-backed environment.
  • A strong track record of owning and improving budgeting, forecasting, reporting and performance management processes.
  • Excellent commercial judgement and the ability to translate financial information into clear, actionable business decisions.
  • Experience partnering with CFOs, COOs, MDs / GMs and wider senior leadership teams.
  • Previous exposure to M&A and post-acquisition integration would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of capital allocation, investment appraisal and financial modelling.
  • Experience operating in a high-growth, changing or acquisitive environment.
  • Exposure to debt, covenant management, liquidity or funding requirements would be beneficial.
  • Experience partnering with multiple business units and senior operational stakeholders.
  • Strong systems and data capability, with experience improving dashboards, reporting and FP&A processes.
  • A strategic mindset combined with a hands-on, ownership-driven approach.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to challenge senior stakeholders and influence decision-making.
  • Qualified accountant or equivalent strong commercial finance background.
