Job summary

Harrogate Homeless Project in Harrogate is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator for a 12-month maternity cover to lead recruitment, onboarding and ongoing support for volunteers across the charity. You will match volunteers to meaningful opportunities, coordinate placements and ensure a safe, rewarding experience for all involved.

You will also help develop our community fundraising volunteer network, engaging local supporters and building lasting partnerships to sustain the charity's work.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview and onboard new volunteers across a range of roles.
• Coordinate volunteer inductions, training and compliance requirements, including DBS checks where applicable.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with volunteers, ensuring they feel supported and valued.
• Produce and manage weekly volunteer rotas and coordinate volunteer activities across services.
• Maintain accurate volunteer records and databases, ensuring compliance with data protection requirements.
• Develop opportunities for community fundraising volunteers and support local fundraising activity.
• Gather and analyse volunteer feedback to improve the volunteer experience.
• Organise volunteer recognition initiatives, including an annual volunteer celebration event.
• Manage work experience enquiries and placements across the organisation.
• Support fundraising events and activities where volunteer involvement is required.
