Job summary

WPS is seeking a Carpenter Multi Trader based at our Walton-on-Thames office to join the Responsive Maintenance division, focusing on void properties for social housing contracts. You'll help bring empty homes back to a high standard for new residents, while completing a DBS check at offer stage as part of our pre-employment process.

You will perform carpentry and multi-trade tasks, work independently or with colleagues, and ensure all works are safe, efficient, and meet quality standards.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry or similar trade qualification.
• Proven experience in carpentry and multi-trade work, preferably in voids or social housing.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to deliver high-quality workmanship under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repair, renewal, and reinstatement works within void properties.
• Complete a variety of carpentry and multi-trade tasks to prepare homes for re-let.
• Advise Supervisor when additional trades are required.
• Work independently or with others to complete void refurbishments.
• Complete daily work sheets detailing tasks and materials used.
• Ensure works are finished productively, safely, and to a high standard.
