Job summary

Mears Group PLC in Leeds is seeking a skilled Multi-Skilled Operative to support a busy voids contract. You will carry out end-to-end repairs across carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling and decorating to return social housing to lettable standard.

This hands-on role requires independent work, good fault-finding and strong customer service, with a full UK driving licence and commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in domestic repairs and maintenance across multiple trades.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service skills, with experience working in occupied homes.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs and maintenance within void social housing properties, ensuring homes are returned to a lettable standard.
• Complete general carpentry repairs, including skirting boards, architraves, doors, locks and kitchen units.
• Undertake minor plumbing repairs, including leaks, taps and blocked sinks.
• Carry out patch plastering and make good walls and ceilings.
• Complete minor wall and floor tiling, grouting and sealing.
• Undertake painting and decorating as required as part of void refurbishment works.
• Identify and report additional repairs, defects or follow-on works.
• Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicles in good working order.
