Job summary

Teaching Vacancies at Keighley College is seeking a Teacher of Vocational Studies to deliver high-quality, practical teaching. You will support learners to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed for employment, internal progression or apprenticeships across Level 1 Vocational Studies pathways with a primary focus on Uniformed Public Services.

A key part of the role is to support learners of varying abilities, including those with additional learning needs, by adapting teaching

Qualifications

• Motivated, practical, and supportive practitioner passionate about helping learners succeed in Vocational Studies with a focus on Uniformed Public Services.
• Confident working with a wide range of abilities and developing learners' skills, independence, and employability.
• Able to deliver engaging, hands-on learning linked to the Public Services sector, building practical skills and workplace behaviours.
• Patient, adaptable, and able to create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Strong communication and ability to build positive relationships with learners and help them develop confidence and resilience.
• Collaborative work style: track progress, provide guidance, and help learners progress to qualifications, apprenticeships, or employment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the preparation, marking, assessment and moderation are completed promptly and efficiently within agreed timescales.
• Effectively manage the delivery of vocational units for each learner, with appropriate support where necessary.
• Continually pursue professional development including new technologies to improve learning management.
• Ensure that EHCPs are updated and reviewed regularly.
