Role Information

At LCG, our Vocational Skills Coaches (VSCs) are educators, mentors, motivators and changemakers. You’ll be at the heart of shaping the next generation of housing professionals by sharing your industry knowledge and coaching learners to reach their full potential.

This role is all about coaching and guiding learners through their apprenticeship journey, helping them build confidence and supporting their development through monthly progress reviews.

What You’ll Be Doing Day-to-Day
  • Coaching learners through their apprenticeship journey, with a focus on personal growth and professional development
  • Delivering engaging online learning sessions (mostly via Microsoft Teams)
  • Conducting monthly progress reviews with learners and their employers
  • Supporting learners with both theory and practical elements of their qualification
  • Providing advice and guidance to help learners set and achieve career goals
  • Collaborating with employers to ensure learning is relevant and impactful
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver tailored learning programmes with clear goals and regular progress reviews (ILP).
  • Facilitate learning in line with apprenticeship standards, ensuring consistency and fairness in teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Support learners with functional skills qualifications, providing meaningful and specific feedback to aid progression; liaise with specialist tutors where applicable.
  • Provide robust exit advice and career guidance, recognising IAG throughout the learning journey and at completion.
  • Maintain accurate learner records and ensure timely reporting to support management and audit requirements.
  • Use the e-portfolio system to manage sessions, feedback and learner progress.
  • Deliver balanced KPIs in line with company expectations (e.g. caseload, retention, achievement).
  • Ensure learners receive a high‑quality experience aligned with company and external standards.
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with learners, employers and internal business support teams.
  • Drive self‑generation of learners and maintain relationships with existing clients to uphold the Learning Curve Group brand.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities and collaborate with the quality team.
  • Contribute to cross‑sector or functional projects that support the company’s strategic plan.
  • Plan and record CPD in line with company and stakeholder requirements, updating Purple People accordingly.
  • Act as a vocational expert within your designated sector.

  • Ensure confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Provide support, advice and guidance to learners, customers and colleagues as part of your role.
