Job summary

Brainkind is recruiting a Vocational Recreational & Activities Coordinator in Glasgow to support service users in accessing vocational, learning and recreational opportunities. The role emphasizes independence, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and activities that foster skills across literacy, numeracy and ICT.

The position offers flexible hours, a salary of £13.15 per hour, and a benefits package including health-related schemes and staff support.

Qualifications

• Experience in a multidisciplinary environment or supporting with devising and implementing activity programmes.
• IT skills including Outlook, Microsoft Office, and internet navigation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Customer care skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Timely reporting and record keeping.
• Full driving licence and ability to drive service vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Assist to maximise service user independence and well-being through supporting access to a range of internal and external vocational, learning and recreational opportunities.
• Assist colleagues in developing and delivering vocational, learning and recreational programmes.
• Support in maintaining partnerships with external vocational/learning and recreational providers.
• Pursue existing interests and encourage new ones across activities within the local community.
• Provide opportunities for service users to acquire/improve literacy, numeracy and computer skills.
• Assist service users to gain daily living skills through active participation or observation.
• Regularly report achievements and future plans to enable staff to progress service users' goals.
• Be conversant with Care Programmes relating to personal care, nutrition, mobility and communication aids.
• Be conversant/proficient with equipment in the Activities Department ensuring safe usage.
