Job summary

Tektora are supporting a leading Defence and National Security IT provider who are looking to speak with DV Cleared VMware Infrastructure Architects for a contract opportunity building a secure IaaS platform on VMware Cloud Foundation.

This role suits someone with deep VMware virtualization design experience across VCF, VCD and NSX-T who is keen to develop secure-by-design and air-gapped platform delivery on site in Hampshire.

Qualifications

• DV clearance required (UK sole national).
• Experience designing, implementing and managing VMware-based virtualization solutions.
• Strong experience with VMware Cloud Director, NSX-T and vRealize Orchestrator.
• Deep knowledge of vSphere architecture.
• Scripting for automation (PowerShell or Python).
• VMware certification such as VCP or VCAP.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing VMware-based IaaS solutions to client requirements and secure by design principles.
• Configuring and optimising VMware Cloud Foundation components, including integration with the Aria Operations platform.
• Designing and implementing capabilities for air-gapped patching and updates within the VCF environment.
• Implementing and configuring NSX-T for software-defined networking and security.
• Deploying and managing VMware Cloud Director instances, including resource pools, organisations, virtual data centres and networking.
• Designing and implementing VMware Cloud Director Availability for disaster recovery and workload mobility.
• Collaborating with infrastructure and operations teams to integrate VMware solutions with existing systems.
• Providing technical expertise during testing, troubleshooting and resolution, including Omnissa Horizon VDI.
• Developing and maintaining architectural diagrams, standard operating procedures and technical guides.

This role would suit someone with deep VMware virtualisation design experience across VCF, VCD and NSX-T who is looking to develop further across secure by design principles and air-gapped platform delivery.

The Role

You will be involved in:

• Designing and implementing VMware-based IaaS solutions to client requirements and secure by design principles

Key Experience Required

• UK Sole National with active DV Clearance
• Proven experience designing, implementing and managing VMware-based virtualisation solutions
• Strong experience across VMware Cloud Director, NSX-T and vRealize Orchestrator
• In-depth knowledge of virtualisation concepts and VMware vSphere architecture
• Strong understanding of software-defined networking principles and NSX-T configuration and management
• Hands-on scripting for automation, for example PowerShell or Python
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• VMware certification such as VCP or VCAP
• Experience of air-gapped or offline patching within secure environments
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience
