Job summary

Candour seeks an experienced infrastructure specialist to lead VMware SDDC projects in enterprise environments. You will design, deploy and optimise VMware Cloud Foundation and vSphere, driving modernisation of private and hybrid cloud environments.

You will run discovery workshops, create HLD/LLD designs, support handover and lifecycle activities, and collaborate with vendors and customers to deliver successful infrastructure projects in the UK.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering complex infrastructure and SDDC projects in enterprise environments.
• Strong hands-on experience designing, deploying, configuring and optimising VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and VMware vSphere environments.
• Experience with VMware Aria Operations (vROps) including performance monitoring and capacity management.
• Understanding of infrastructure architecture, virtualisation and data centre transformation.
• Experience with VMware lifecycle management including upgrades and patching.
• Knowledge of VMware ecosystem (NSX, Avi Load Balancer, HCX, Live Recovery, SRM).
• Experience with hybrid cloud, migrations and business continuity solutions.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving across complex virtualised environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management with technical teams and customers.
• Experience producing High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs).
• A relevant VMware certification or willingness to pursue qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery workshops to gather requirements and objectives.
• Design and deliver VMware Cloud Foundation solutions with detailed designs and implementation plans.
• Deploy, configure and test VCF environments for operational handover.
• Support private and hybrid cloud modernisation and transformation.
• Provide technical guidance to customers to identify suitable solutions.
• Manage VMware platform lifecycle activities including upgrades and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across VMware and SDDC technologies.
• Collaborate with project teams, vendors and customers to deliver infrastructure projects.
• Assist pre-sales with technical scoping, solution design and product demos.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation and handover materials.

• Proven experience delivering complex infrastructure and Software-Defined Data Centre (SDDC) projects within enterprise environments.
• Strong hands-on experience designing, deploying, configuring and optimising VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and VMware vSphere environments.
• Experience with VMware Aria Operations (formerly vRealize Operations), including performance monitoring, capacity management and operational visibility.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure architecture, virtualisation, enterprise platforms and data centre transformation.
• Experience with VMware lifecycle management, including upgrades, patching, certificate replacement, credential rotation and ongoing maintenance.
• Knowledge of the wider VMware ecosystem, including NSX, Avi Advanced Load Balancer, HCX, VMware Live Recovery and Site Recovery Manager.
• Understanding of hybrid cloud, infrastructure migrations, modernisation and business continuity solutions.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across complex virtualised infrastructure environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage with technical teams, customers and senior stakeholders.
• Experience producing technical documentation, High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs).
• A relevant VMware certification or willingness to work towards industry-recognised qualifications.

What will you be doing?

• Manage VMware platform lifecycle activities, including upgrades, patching, configuration and ongoing maintenance.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and provide technical support across VMware and wider SDDC technologies.
• Work closely with project teams, commercial colleagues, vendors and customers to deliver successful infrastructure projects.
• Support pre-sales activities, including technical scoping, solution design and product demonstrations.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, implementation guides and operational handover materials.
