Job summary

Sword Group is seeking an experienced infrastructure engineer to join the Compute & Storage workstream for a major Critical National Infrastructure virtualisation programme, supporting Low-Level Design authoring through to build and commissioning of a dual-site VMware Cloud Foundation / vSAN platform.

We require hands-on production experience with VMware vSphere/vSAN (ESA preferred), HPE ProLiant hardware with iLO, and Rubrik backup concepts.

Qualifications

Hands-on with VMware vSphere/vSAN and ESA in production environments.
Experience with HPE ProLiant servers and iLO configuration.
Familiarity with Rubrik backup and DR concepts.
Knowledge of Windows Server components (AD, PKI/AD CS, RDS) as they relate to identity workstreams.
Ability to author and review design docs, diagrams and build guides.
Comfort operating in regulated, security-conscious environments with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Support Low-Level Design authoring through to build and commissioning of VMware Cloud Foundation / vSAN platform.
Author and review technical design documentation to audit-ready standards.
Engage with customer stakeholders and third-party vendors within a regulated setting.
