Job summary

Sword Group is seeking an experienced infrastructure engineer to join the Compute & Storage workstream for a major Critical National Infrastructure virtualisation programme in Scotland. You will support Low-Level Design through to build and commissioning of a dual-site VMware Cloud Foundation / vSAN platform.

Key tasks include hands-on design and configuration of vSphere/vSAN, HPE ProLiant hardware, Rubrik backups, and integration with Windows Server services.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere and vSAN.
• Experience with HPE ProLiant servers and iLO.
• Knowledge of enterprise backup platforms (Rubrik preferred).
• Experience with Windows Server infrastructure (AD, PKI/AD CS, RDS).
• Ability to author and review high-quality LLDs, diagrams and build guides.

Responsibilities

• Support Low-Level Design authoring for a dual-site VMware Cloud Foundation / vSAN platform.
• Assist in build, commissioning and validation of the platform.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and vendors in a regulated security environment.
