Job summary

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Domestic Assistant to join the team responsible for cleaning wards, departments and public areas. No prior experience required as full training is provided, with a focus on meeting NHS cleaning standards and patient safety.

You will work as part of the Domestic Team, be friendly and reliable, and contribute to a clean, safe environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Good general education to GCSE standard.
• COSHH Certificate.
• Health & Safety qualification and cleaning experience.
• Experience working with the public.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning duties in designated area of responsibility.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of all cleaning activities.
• Communicate with Domestic Supervisor and colleagues by phone/radio and written procedures about cleaning tasks and service needs.
• Identify and report any equipment defects or stock shortages.
• Pro-actively support the continued improvement of the domestic service.
