Job summary

Music Mark is seeking a dedicated music teacher to work across multiple schools, delivering instrumental lessons to individuals, small groups and whole classes. You will lead or support youth ensembles, including rehearsals, residential courses and tours, and help recruit pupils from whole-class programmes through demonstrations in lessons and events.

The role involves travel between schools and teaching venues, with after-school sessions at a music centre, and occasional Saturdays during term

Qualifications

• Substantial recent teaching experience
• Experience of teaching within a school environment
• High level performance experience across a variety of genres
• Ability to play and teach multiple instruments
• Experience of conducting and leading ensembles
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Strong organisation and prioritisation
• Driving licence and access to a vehicle
• Commitment to equity, diversity & inclusion
• Safeguarding training

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver instrumental music lessons for individuals, small groups and whole classes
• Lead or support youth ensembles through rehearsals, residential courses and tours
• Recruit pupils from whole-class programmes and deliver demonstrations
• Design high-quality lessons tailored to pupils’ needs
• Provide feedback and track progress using appropriate frameworks
• Maintain attendance and progress records and handle admin tasks
• Participate in professional development and meetings
• Ensure compliance with policies and training requirements
• Build strong relationships with schools and communicate with parents and carers
