Job summary

Qualified Teacher of Children and Young People with Vision Impairment is sought on a permanent basis in Birmingham. The role will involve assessment, teaching and support for CYP with vision impairment from birth to 25, working across families, nurseries, mainstream and specialist settings, and travelling across the city.

The post requires QTS and a commitment to inclusion, with the ability to work flexibly in a multi-disciplinary team within Birmingham's SEND reforms.

Qualifications

• Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching children and young people with vision impairment.
• Willing to undertake mandatory training for CYP with vision impairment.
• Able to travel across Birmingham to work in various settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, teaching and support for CYP with vision impairment from birth to 25.
• Work in family homes, nurseries, mainstream and special schools, FE colleges.
• Promote inclusion and raise achievement for vision-impaired learners.
• Travel across the city of Birmingham.
