A unique and rewarding opportunity to join Cranstoun’s Positive Relationships Gloucestershire service as a Violence Prevention Practitioner.
The role will deliver Cranstoun’s Domestic Abuse Interventions and Resolutions (C-DAIR) through the police conditional caution pathway and facilitate the Men & Masculinities Programme (MMP), a 24-week group programme supporting men to recognise and take responsibility for abusive behaviour and work towards sustained change.
We are looking for a motivated, confident and skilled practitioner who can assess and engage participants, deliver approved C-DAIR sessions, facilitate MMP groups and manage cases across both pathways. You will use motivational, relationship-building and group facilitation skills to promote accountability, understanding of harm and meaningful behaviour change.
Victim-survivor and child safety underpins all of our work. You will work closely with Integrated Partner Support, local domestic abuse services and statutory, voluntary and community partners to inform risk assessment, support safeguarding and ensure the safety of victim-survivors and children remains central to programme delivery. You will also contribute to professional consultation, awareness raising, multi-agency meetings and service development across Gloucestershire.
You will bring experience of direct work with vulnerable service users and working within safeguarding or public protection multi-agency settings. A strong understanding of domestic abuse, coercive and controlling behaviour, risk management and the impact on victim-survivors and children is essential. You will need excellent communication, partnership-working, case management and record-keeping skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and the confidence to make defensible decisions in complex situations. Experience of working with people who use abusive behaviour, pro-social modelling or motivational interviewing is desirable.
Post holder will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check against relevant barred lists.
