Durham University is offering a part‑time Video Production Intern internship within the Marketing & Communications Office. The role is four hours per week during term time, with a casual contract until June 2027 or graduation. A hybrid working model is available, with equipment provided for filming and editing.

The post involves gaining experience in filming, editing, and creating video content for the University’s channels, supporting research and corporate projects.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable video skills (filming and editing).
• A good team player who is reliable and able to work to a deadline, with a creative approach.
• Access to your own editing software at home would be beneficial to support hybrid working arrangements.

Responsabilités

• Work alongside the team to contribute to the delivery of specific project(s).
• Develop experience and skills from working in a real‑world work environment.
• Contribute specific skills to the work of the department, specifically video production skills (filming and editing).
• Plan and prioritise own work, adhering to agreed deliverables and timeframes and referring any issues with workload or timeframes to colleagues.
• Working with/taking a brief from Marketing and Communications team to create a video for inclusion in campaigns.
• Visiting academic researchers or other staff to shoot footage for the video.
• Producing a video suitable for the web and/or social media using editing software.
• Input into the creative process, suggesting how to best showcase ideas.
