Job summary

Hearst UK is seeking a Deputy Director of Video to shape the next generation of YouTube shows across iconic brands. You will work with the Director of Video to develop formats, pilots and launches, while executive producing multiple shows and guiding producers to deliver high‑quality content.

This hands‑on leadership role includes setting budgets, production planning and delivery processes, and building relationships with senior stakeholders across Hearst brands.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in video production and delivering YouTube shows.
• Proven ability to take repeatable show concepts from idea through development, pilots and launch.
• Experience executive producing or supervising other producers with clear creative direction.
• Strong hands-on production skills including shoot planning and directing.
• Deep understanding of YouTube audiences, platform behaviour and audience growth.
• Excellent editorial judgement and storytelling instincts with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Deputise for the Director of Video, providing leadership and day-to-day direction for the video team.
• Develop and shape the department’s slate of YouTube shows from concept to launch.
• Executive produce a range of shows and review scripts, briefs, plans and edits.
• Provide editorial direction to help producers solve challenges and deliver on time and budget.
• Produce a limited number of shows personally, managing format development and shoots.
