The Vice President, Project Management will be:
- Responsible for delivering a suite of Projects across Operational and Technology resilience.
- Responsible for developing, in conjunction with the Sponsor / Project Owner, a clear definition of the project(s) and ensuring they are effectively resourced, managing relationships with all project contributors.
- Responsible for managing consultants, allocating resources efficiently, and maintaining a motivated, successful team.
- Accountable for the delivery of multiple projects, supporting the Portfolio Manager with timely information, escalations, and portfolio-wide issues.
- Responsible for detailed project reporting and adherence to governance.
- Ensures benefits are realized post-project delivery.
Essential Functions / Major Duties
Strategic
- Define project plans through interactive processes involving business requirements, specifications, and resource management.
- Formalize plans, conduct or coordinate business analysis as needed.
- Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships.
- Present plans and business cases for approval.
- Ensure benefits are measurable and agreed upon.
- Follow the Project Framework and governance standards.
- Maintain control over project costs and schedules.
Operational
- Manage daily project scope, budget, and inter-project coordination.
- Create and revise work plans as needed.
- Apply and support CLS Governance methodologies and standards.
- Review deliverables before company-wide review.
- Identify resources and work with PMO to secure support.
- Lead virtual project teams.
- Manage risks, issues, and project scope changes.
- Recruit project staff and consultants as necessary.
- Coordinate partners and working groups.
- Ensure project documentation is complete and stored properly.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans.
- Manage project deliverables and escalate issues.
- Monitor progress from benefit, time, cost, and quality perspectives.
- Provide status reports and updates to senior management.
Leadership
- Coach, mentor, and lead junior staff.
- Own projects and lead by example.
- Manage project teams effectively through matrix management.
- Manage stakeholders and ensure effective communication and governance.
- Influence and motivate project teams to meet constraints.
Experience / Requirements
- Practical experience leading and managing projects in operational or technology resilience.
- Experience delivering complex change programs within regulated organizations.
- Knowledge of Operational Resilience frameworks, risk assessments, compliance, and IT security.
- Experience with enterprise repositories, configuration databases, and resilience platforms.
- Change management experience, especially with policies, processes, and tools.
- Experience managing budgets over £1m.
- Excellent communication skills supporting technical teams and business case development.
- Ability to quantify effort and analyze implications on the business.
- Proficient in MS Office and MS Project; experience with PlanView or similar tools.
- Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications / Certifications
- Certifications such as CBCI, CRISC, CISSP, ISO22301 Lead Implementer.
- Formal project management training (MSP, PRINCE2, PMI, APM, Six Sigma).
- Professional project management accreditation (Prince2, PMI, APM, etc.).
