Qualifications

  • Graduate-level individual with professional insurance qualification ACII already obtained.
  • 15 years demonstrable experience underwriting Healthcare accounts and clients.
  • Excellent analytical skills and solid knowledge of pricing & actuarial models.
  • Must be articulate with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong marketing and business development capability with commercial acumen.
  • Highly computer literate within MS office applications and underwriting systems.
  • Methodical approach to work with strong organization skills.
  • Overall team player with collaborative outlook.

Responsibilities

Job description
Duties and Responsibilities :
  • Perform extensive account analysis according to underwriting guidelines to include thorough review of underwriting application / submission consideration of risk management protocols research via on-line services and other available resources and liaising with other Company departments to establish full understanding of risk exposures and completion of underwriting (pricing) worksheets.
  • Perform referrals (as required) with Senior Vice President Healthcare and / or Head of Specialty
  • Responsible for timely and correct issuance of bound polices. Crafting of Endorsement wordings for authorization by legal. Providing direction to the team to achieve timely processing
  • Working closely with the Senior Vice President of Healthcare and contribute to the formation of overall Healthcare strategy / business plans and the execution thereof.
  • Policy / Endorsement wordings.
  • Active role in the development of business in London market exploring opportunities and marketing within the London Market and EU as required.
  • Liaise with actuarial support to develop premium benchmarking and pricing models with development of account pricing / recommendations.
  • Authorizing of quotes binders and invoices in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Ensuring receipt of and review of outstanding information (including underlying / followed policies) to ensure consistency with the terms and conditions agreed at binding.
  • Accountable for the maintenance of underwriting files in an orderly manner and in accordance with the underwriting guidelines.
  • Delegation (and supervision) of work to Assistant Underwriters as deemed appropriate and responsible for the professional development and training of assigned team members or direct reports where applicable.
  • Marketing attend client / broker meetings lunches dinners and other social outings as applicable. Meet with key brokers regularly to discuss production service and other topics relative to division operation
  • Attend important industry conferences and seminars as appropriate.
Job Requirements :
  • Ideally graduate-level individual with professional insurance qualification ACII already obtained
  • Required 15 years demonstrable experience underwriting Healthcare accounts and clients
  • Excellent analytical skills and solid knowledge of pricing & actuarial models and methods
  • Must be highly articulate with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills required for daily liaison with clients and brokers including delivering effective presentations and building strong working relationships.
  • Strong marketing and business development capability commercial acumen ability to influence and negotiate to various levels of seniority internally and externally.
  • Highly computer literate within MS office applications and an advanced level proficiency using underwriting systems
  • Methodical approach to work strong organization skills; capable of dealing with tight reporting dealing and conflicting priorities
  • Overall team player with collaborative outlook coaching approach to the development of more junior members of the team.
