Job summary

The Church Of England invites applications for the role of Vicar of St James Porchester. You will lead a committed congregation, nurture prayer, and guide the parish in worship rooted in Scripture across all ages.

You will work with lay leaders and schools, aim to grow the church among children, young people and families, and provide compassionate leadership through change, building shared ministry across Mapperley, Carlton and Gedling.

Responsibilities

• inspire worship that is rooted in prayer and Scripture and accessible to all ages
• help us grow, particularly among children, young people and those under 45
• build relationships across the parish, including its expanding new housing developments
• deepen discipleship and help people grow in confidence, prayer and faith
• offer wise, courageous and compassionate leadership through change
• nurture and release the gifts of lay and ministry leaders within a shared culture of service
