Job summary

Inspiring Vet Care in Gloucestershire is seeking a confident Veterinary Surgeon to join our 24/7 hospital and a smaller branch at Wotton Under Edge. The role includes sole-charge periods and support from a large clinical team.

You will deliver high-quality patient and client care across a varied caseload and have opportunities to develop clinical interests while contributing to our collaborative clinical culture. This is a fixed-term maternity cover with a balanced hospital-branch split.

Qualifications

• As a Veterinary Surgeon you must hold a veterinary degree and be registered or eligible for registration with the RCVS.
• Experience in a clinical practice with confidence in routine medical and surgical cases.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Proactive approach to learning with openness to feedback and development.
• Professionalism, reliability and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.
• Develop clinical skills and share knowledge with colleagues to support clinical culture.
• Manage a diverse caseload of medical and surgical cases with support from a large clinical network.
• Occasionally work in sole-charge capacity, with access to network-wide support.

We are seeking a confident and enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join our team in our Wotton Under Edge branch in Gloucestershire

This varied role will involve working across both our busy 24/7 veterinary hospital and a smaller branch practice. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a sole-charge capacity when required, while benefiting from the support and expertise of a large, experienced clinical team.

How You'll Make a Difference

As a Veterinary Surgeon, you'll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.

You'll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You'll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.

• Fixed-term contract covering maternity leave
• Split between a busy 24/7 hospital and a smaller branch practice
• Opportunity to manage a diverse caseload of medical and surgical cases
• Sole-charge responsibilities at times, with access to support from a wider clinical network

Working pattern:

• Monday & Tuesday: 8.30am-7.00pm
• 1 in 9 full weekends, covering Saturday and Sunday at our 24/7 mid-Tier Referral & 1st Opinion Hospital
• 1 in 9 Saturday mornings

• A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS
