Job summary

Rowe Veterinary Group in Wotton Under Edge, Gloucestershire, is seeking a confident Veterinary Surgeon to join our team. This fixed-term contract covers maternity leave and spans our busy 24/7 veterinary hospital and a smaller branch practice.

You’ll work in sole-charge capacity at times, with support from a large clinical network, and manage a diverse caseload of medical and surgical cases, while developing your clinical interests within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

  • A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS.
  • Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • A proactive approach to learning, with openness to feedback and development.
  • Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

  • Work across both hospital and branch settings to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Handle sole-charge responsibilities at times, with access to clinical network support.
  • Manage a diverse caseload of medical and surgical cases.
  • Collaborate with the wider practice team to deliver excellent care and contribute to clinical culture.

We are seeking a confident and enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join our team in our Wotton Under Edge branch in Gloucestershire

This varied role will involve working across both our busy 24/7 veterinary hospital and a smaller branch practice. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a sole-charge capacity when required, while benefiting from the support and expertise of a large, experienced clinical team.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.

You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.

This role will be:

  • Fixed-term contract covering maternity leave
  • Split between a busy 24/7 hospital and a smaller branch practice
  • Opportunity to manage a diverse caseload of medical and surgical cases
  • Sole-charge responsibilities at times, with access to support from a wider clinical network

Working pattern:

  • Monday & Tuesday: 8.30am-7.00pm
  • 1 in 9 full weekends, covering Saturday and Sunday at our 24/7 mid-Tier Referral & 1st Opinion Hospital
  • 1 in 9 Saturday mornings
