Job description

Bridge Vets, Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, Scotland

Bridge Vets in Aberdeen is seeking an experienced and compassionate Veterinary Surgeon to join our dedicated and supportive team! This is a fantastic opportunity to work across our four well-established practices in the Aberdeen area, delivering high-quality care to a diverse range of patients.

In this role, your day-to-day will include a balanced mix of consulting and surgical duties, offering variety and the chance to broaden your expertise. While you’ll be part of a dynamic, fast-paced team, there will also be times when sole charge is required, so confidence in independent decision-making is essential.

Our people are at the heart

Our flexible approach to rota patterns and working hours truly tips the scale on your work-life balance. We know that everyone has demands and priorities outside of their career and we want to make it brilliantly easy for you to strike the right balance. Whether you are looking to fix or flex your work patterns, we can find the right solution for you.

The full-time position would include working 40 hours per week between 8 am – 7 pm, Monday to Friday, with a 1:4 share in the Saturday rota - absolutely no out of hours requirement! We welcome applicants looking for part-time or flexible working arrangements.

Why Join Us?

Bridge Vets is made up of four first opinion small animal branches and a sister practice Aberdeen Veterinary Referrals. We are deeply committed to making our practice a happy and supportive workplace for our entire team, where you can flourish both professionally and personally.

Our clinics are well-equipped with the latest veterinary technology, including ultrasound, digital main and dental x-ray machines, as well as in-house blood machines. One of our branches is dedicated solely to consulting, while the other three have multiple consulting rooms, theatres, x-ray facilities, and a separate prep area. We are always looking for ways to expand and upgrade our equipment, and we’re more than happy to invest in additional tools or resources to support your specialist interests.

You’ll be joining a team of 10 experienced vets, supported by 12 Registered Veterinary Nurses, as well as 8 student nurses/veterinary care assistants and a dedicated reception team. We are proud to have an internal medicine certificate holder on staff, along with a vet who has a particular interest in exotics. If you have a passion for a specific area of veterinary care, we are eager to support your continued education, including sponsorship for certificates.

We recognise that our people are fundamental to the success of our business. Investing in our people, premises and processes is at the heart of what we do. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will benefit from -
