Job description

Find your future with Ardene House Veterinary Practice

At Ardene House Veterinary Practice, we're looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our experienced team on a part‑time basis (16 hours per week). Whether you're looking for a predominantly consulting role or enjoy a mix of consulting and surgery, we'd love to hear from you. We're happy to be flexible and tailor the role around your strengths and interests.

Based in Aberdeen, Ardene offers the perfect blend of a busy first‑opinion practice with access to hospital‑level facilities, giving you the opportunity to work cases up to a high standard while enjoying genuine clinical freedom.

What you'll be stepping into

We're seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys building lasting client relationships and delivering outstanding patient care. This role has a preference for consulting, making it ideal for someone who enjoys case continuity, client communication and internal medicine. However, if you also enjoy surgery, we're happy to incorporate this into the role, with salary reflecting the level of clinical responsibility. You'll be supported by an experienced and collaborative team who encourage clinical discussion, knowledge sharing and continued professional development.

This is a part‑time position of 16 hours per week, with flexibility around how those hours are worked. Shifts fall between 8:00am and 7:00pm, with participation in a 1 in 3 Saturday rota. We're committed to finding a working pattern that suits both you and the practice, so we're happy to discuss flexible options at interview.

About Ardene House Veterinary Practice

Ardene House is a busy, well‑established small animal practice with the facilities and caseload to allow you to practise high‑quality medicine without the limitations often associated with traditional first‑opinion practice. Our loyal and engaged client base values thorough investigations and advanced treatment options, allowing our vets to work cases up to an excellent clinical standard while maintaining continuity of care.

You'll have access to an impressive range of equipment, including:

  • CT scanner

  • Laparoscopy

  • Digital CR radiography

  • Endoscopy

  • Ultrasound

  • Dental radiography

  • Full in‑house laboratory

  • 24/7 out‑of‑hours support provided on‑site by Vets Now

Whether your interests lie in consulting, medicine, surgery or developing a particular clinical area, you'll be joining a practice that actively supports career progression and ongoing learning.
