Job summary

Ardene House Vets in Aberdeen is seeking a part-time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the clinical team. The role covers nursing care for a range of first opinion cases, working with surgeons and the wider team to maintain clinical standards and support ongoing patient care development.

You will contribute to high-quality nursing, patient workups, and offer compassionate client experiences within a supportive primary care environment.

Qualifications

• RCVS registration as veterinary nurse (RCVS) is essential.
• Experience in clinical practice with nursing responsibilities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively.
• Proactive approach to learning, reflection and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Assist vets with both surgical and non-surgical procedures.
• Provide high standards of inpatient care.
• Support patient workups including x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy and CT scans.
• Anaesthetic monitoring and support.
• Dental work including scale, polish and dental x-rays.
• Assist with laparoscopic and orthopaedic procedures.
• Run nurse clinics.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Ardene House Vets on a part-time basis.

Our purpose-built hospital, based in the beautiful outskirts of Kingswells, Aberdeen, provides small animal, equine, and farm animal veterinary services. We also have a branch in Bridge of Don, offering convenient companion animal care to the local community.

Our team includes certificate holders in surgery and medicine, and we host visiting specialists in cardiology, dermatology, and pain management. We've recently welcomed Aberdeen Veterinary Referrals, offering advanced orthopaedic and internal medicine services within our facility.

Our hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including:

• Separate canine, feline, isolation, and critical care wards
• CT scanner, digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, and modern theatre suites
• A strong focus on patient comfort and safety

How You'll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You'll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern

• 20 hours per week
• Working Monday and Tuesday, with shifts between 7:30am-7:30pm
• 1 in 5 Saturday shifts
• No OOH or on-call

General Responsibilities
