Job summary

Vetted Recruitment Limited is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon for a part-time night position in Bristol. You will provide OOH primary care, inpatient care, and emergency support, with a rotation schedule and a strong emphasis on patient care and client service.

The role suits an experienced small animal vet with 3–5 years' experience, capable of autonomous practice, mentoring colleagues, and delivering high standards in a modern, well-equipped practice.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years' experience as a small animal vet.
• Strong clinical autonomy with varied caseload.
• Proficient in routine and emergency surgery and medical care.
• Excellent communication and commitment to client service.
• Ability to mentor and support colleagues in a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary care OOH consultations and receive member practice transfers.
• Deliver inpatient care, medical work-ups, and perform surgeries.
• Manage exotic inpatient care and ECC cases.
• Operate in a sole charge capacity with high veterinary standards.
• Night shifts Monday to Wednesday, 8pm–9am, on a 1 in 3-week rotation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver inpatient care, medical work-ups, and perform surgeries.
• Manage exotic inpatient care and handle emergency critical care (ECC) cases.
• Operate in a sole charge capacity, ensuring high standards of veterinary care.
• Work Monday to Wednesday nights, from 8pm to 9am, on a 1 in 3-week rotation.

• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience as a small animal vet.
• Strong clinical autonomy and ability to handle a varied caseload.
• Proficient in routine and emergency surgery with robust medical knowledge.
