Job summary

Robson & Prescott Vets in Northumberland is seeking an experienced Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join our supportive team. This role offers a genuine balance of small animal, farm, equine and export work, with a 40‑hour week across four days and a set day off for a healthier work‑life balance.

An OV qualification would be welcomed but is not essential, as training and ongoing CPD are provided by Inspiring Vet Care.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Mixed Veterinary Surgeon across multiple disciplines.
• Willingness to participate in an in-house out-of-hours rota.
• Commitment to CPD and continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality veterinary care across small animal, farm and equine patients.
• Contribute to export certification work where appropriate.
• Build trusted relationships with clients across local communities.
• Work with colleagues across disciplines to ensure excellent clinical outcomes.
• Manage a varied mix of medical and surgical cases.
• Participate in in-house out-of-hours rota for continuity of care.

Based in the heart of beautiful Northumberland, we are a well‑established mixed practice with a team of 27 veterinary surgeons providing exceptional care across small animal, farm, equine, exotics and export work.

Whether you’re treating companion animals in our purpose‑built hospital, carrying out farm visits, or working with horses across the local community, you’ll enjoy the diversity and continuity that only a mixed practice can offer.

We’re looking for an experienced Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join our supportive team. This role offers an excellent balance of small animal, farm, equine and export work, allowing you to make full use of your mixed skill set while continuing to develop your interests. An OV qualification would be welcomed but is not essential, as we provide training and support.

Working full‑time, you’ll enjoy a 40‑hour week across four days, with a set day off each week to help maintain a healthy work‑life balance. As part of our commitment to continuity of care, you’ll also take part in our own in‑house out‑of‑hours rota.
