Job summary

Portland House Veterinary Group in Retford is seeking a mixed veterinary surgeon to join as a permanent member of staff. The role is split 60/40 between farm and small animal practice, with a team of 13 vets and 9 nurses and access to ultrasound, digital radiography, dental X‑ray, video endoscopy and an in‑house laboratory.

Up to £65,000 DOE, £5,000 Welcome Bonus, and Relocation Support of £5,000

Inspiring Vet Care is the UK’s number one veterinary care provider, caring for over 2 million animals. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to work as a permanent member of staff at Portland House Veterinary Group in Retford. The role is split 60/40 between farm and small animal practice.

Practice Highlights

Our small animal practice recently moved into a purpose‑built surgery with six consult rooms, three theatres, a separate dental suite, and full imaging facilities. The farm site has an on‑site treatment room for in‑house procedures. The team comprises 13 vets and 9 veterinary nurses, ranging from new graduates to 22‑year experienced clinicians. We provide a complete range of equipment including ultrasound with Doppler, digital radiography, dental X‑ray, video endoscopy, and an internal laboratory.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday 8:30 am – 6 pm. 2‑day OOH weekends and one weekday OOH. Occasional Saturday morning shifts 8:30 am – 12 pm. Flexible rota patterns are available to support work‑life balance.
