Supreme Search Specialists is assisting a small animal practice in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, in recruiting a Veterinary Surgeon. The role offers up to £65,000 FTE, with full-time preferred and part-time considered, and a shared Saturday rota.

The practice supports CPD and provides time for case work-ups and administration. The ideal candidate has a few years of small animal experience, is confident with routine consultations and surgery, and seeks development toward a more senior position

Veterinary Surgeon – Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire

About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a stable, supportive small animal practice in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire.

Salary: Up to £65,000 FTE, DOE
Hours: Full-time preferred, with part-time considered
Weekend rota: Shared Saturday rota
Sundays: Closed
Bank holidays: Closed
Sole charge: Occasional

This role is ideal for a Veterinary Surgeon with a few years of experience who is confident with routine consultations and surgery and wants the freedom to develop a particular clinical interest or progress towards a more senior position.

The practice offers a strong learning culture, generous CPD support and protected time within the diary for case work-ups, reporting results, clinical notes and administration, helping vets maintain high standards without unnecessary time pressure.

About the Practice

The practice is an established and growing small animal service in Middlesbrough, built around a supportive, family-focused culture where colleagues are encouraged to rely on one another and contribute to the continued development of the practice.

The experienced clinical team already has particular interests in exotic animal medicine, soft tissue surgery and ophthalmology, creating an excellent environment for knowledge sharing while allowing the successful candidate to develop their own clinical bias.

The team includes three RVNs, a Student Veterinary Nurse, an experienced Practice Manager and a friendly Reception team, providing strong support across both clinical and non-clinical duties.

Regular team meetings and one-to-one discussions give colleagues the opportunity to contribute to practice protocols, discuss ideas and shape their own professional progression.

• Work up cases thoroughly and communicate diagnostic results effectively.

• Participate in regular team meetings and one-to-one discussions.

• Contribute to the development of practice protocols and clinical standards.

• Support the continued growth and development of the practice.

• Participate in CPD and certificate development where appropriate.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a few years of small animal practice experience who is confident with routine consultations and surgery.

They should be keen to develop a particular area of clinical interest, with the practice able to provide support for certificates and further professional development.

The role would suit a vet who values clinical autonomy, protected time, teamwork and career progression.

Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach are essential. Occasional sole-charge work will be required, so candidates should be comfortable managing cases independently when necessary.

Both full-time and part-time Veterinary Surgeons will be considered.
