Job summary

Glenthorne Vets in Staffordshire is seeking an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon for maternity cover across Uttoxeter and Tutbury. The role is a 40-hour week with no out-of-hours requirements, offering variety, autonomy, and strong clinical support within a close-knit team.

You’ll deliver high-quality patient and client care across a varied caseload, with access to modern equipment and ongoing development opportunities. Salary up to £63,000 (DOE).

Qualifications

• Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS.
• Experience working in clinical practice with routine medical and surgical cases.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Proactive approach to learning with openness to feedback and development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient and client care across a varied caseload.
• Work across Uttoxeter and Tutbury practices with colleagues for support and discussion.
• Contribute to the clinical culture and ongoing development of the team.
• Manage a balanced mix of surgery and medicine within a 40-hour work week.
