Job Description:

Imagine earning a full-time salary while working only half the year. Sounds like a dream, right? My client are looking for a dedicated Equine Vet to join their OOH team.

Why This Role Stands Out

The work-life balance is unparalleled. You will be part of a week-on, week-off rota, meaning you’ll only be working half the year. This arrangement allows you to enjoy extended periods of personal time, perfect for those who value both their professional and personal lives. Additionally, the practice offers the flexibility to earn extra income by providing locum cover during the day if desired.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As an integral part of the team, you will handle approximately 50% of the first call out of hours rota, alternating weeks with another experienced Vet. You will always have the support of a second on-call Vet, ensuring you are never alone in critical situations. The role is predominantly ambulatory, but you will have access to state-of-the-art facilities including stabling, a surgical suite, and advanced diagnostic equipment like DR, ultrasound, and videoscopes.

Skills and Experience

While experience is valued, the right fit for the team is paramount. Whether you are a certificate holder, currently studying for one, or simply passionate about equine care, your professional development will be encouraged with funded CPD and ample growth opportunities.

Benefits and Perks

- Competitive Salary: £45,000-£50,000, based on experience

- Flexible Hours: Monday to Thursday 4.30pm to 8.30am, Friday 4.30pm to Monday 8.30am, including Bank Holidays

- Generous Leave: One week of holiday per year, enabling the possibility of a three-week holiday by swapping duties

- Health and Wellbeing: Health Shield contributions covering a range of treatments, from dentistry to sports massage

- Professional Support: RCVS membership, two additional membership subscriptions, and VDS cover

- Family-Friendly Policies: Enhanced paternity, maternity, adoption, shared parental leave, and surrogacy pay

- Employee Discounts: Reduced veterinary fees and access to many other discounts

- Additional Benefits: Cycle to Work scheme, CPD/training support, company sick pay, colleague engagement surveys, annual pay reviews, and a strong focus on employee wellbeing

Come join the team

This role offers a rare blend of professional fulfilment and personal freedom. If you are ready to take your career to the next level while enjoying a balanced lifestyle, then this is the place for you. Apply today and become part of a supportive and dynamic team dedicated to exceptional equine care.
