Equine Veterinary Surgeon – Wellingborough
Are you a passionate equine vet seeking a new challenge in a beautiful part of the country? Look no further! A fantastic opportunity awaits at a long established, independent mixed practice in the heart of Northamptonshire. Nestled in a picturesque market town rich in green spaces and family friendly amenities, this practice offers the perfect blend of rewarding work and a balanced lifestyle.
This respected 80% equine, 20% farm practice has been serving its loyal client base for over 148 years. Equipped with modern ambulatory kit and a genuine enthusiasm for progressive care, the team offers services such as gastroscopy, ultrasound, laser therapy, endoscopy, x-ray, nerve blocks, and artificial insemination – all supported by an experienced Equine Technician. Complex cases, such as surgical colics or unresolved lameness, are referred, ensuring clinical variety without excessive pressure.
Joining a friendly and collaborative team of two experienced partners and two recently graduated interns, the new Equine Veterinary Surgeon will benefit from a unique blend of energy, innovation, and long-standing expertise. The role comes with full support, but also the freedom to see cases through and develop your own client relationships. You’ll be working with a diverse caseload, from pleasure horses to competition and stud yards, allowing you to expand your clinical repertoire.
You’ll also be part of a wider, mixed practice environment alongside over eight small animal vets and 40+ dedicated staff, sharing knowledge and camaraderie across disciplines. The strong farm base offers further connection to the local rural community—without the burden of TB testing!
Whether you're experienced or recently graduated, your enthusiasm and commitment to quality care will be valued here. This is more than a job; it's a chance to grow, thrive, and make a real impact within a genuinely supportive team.
