Join a locally owned veterinary practice in Yeovil that values work-life balance and team support. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced vets in a friendly environment, focusing on providing top-notch care to a loyal client base. With a commitment to employee wellbeing and a structured workday, you will enjoy a fulfilling career in a practice that prioritizes both professional growth and community involvement. The position offers a competitive salary and a range of benefits, making it an ideal choice for passionate veterinary professionals seeking to make a difference.
Locally owned since 2020, we first opened in 2014 and have retained the same team since opening our doors. If you are looking to join a small, friendly practice with a great reputation in the local area, we have the role for you here at Yeovil Vets for Pets.
About us
The practice is going from strength to strength and is an extremely successful business, providing a first-class service to our loyal client base. We have been RCVS accredited 'Outstanding' for Client Care and Inpatient Services. The practice itself is based in a stand-alone building on a busy retail park with ample parking and popular amenities nearby. We're also only a 5-minute walk to the train station, close to the town centre, and just 1 hour away from thriving tourist destinations such as Exeter, Bath, and the coast!
The team
You'll be joining practice owner Claire, a multi certificate holder, and working alongside an incredibly experienced and supportive vet team including David, who has experience of owning his own practice and is a brilliant teacher ready to mentor less experienced colleagues. You'll also be supported by Marian, a 16-year qualified vet with a passion for surgery, and our wonderful team of nurses, VCA, and Client Care Advisors.
Our culture and the role
Claire is a big supporter of having a great work/life balance, understanding the importance of wellbeing, which is essential for the team to provide the care they do. This role is offered as a full or part-time position, with a clear diary structure and lots of team catch-ups factored into the day, as well as 20-minute consults as standard. The practice also closes at 6pm several days a week, and the weekend rota is just 1 in 3 Saturday mornings.
In joining our team and supporting a great community and client base, we are looking for a colleague with solid GP experience, a team player with great communication skills, and someone that shares our passion for providing the highest level of veterinary care.
Pets just see people. They aren't biased, and they don't discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves, so even if your skills and experience don't perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
Salary and Benefits
Salary up to £65,000, commensurate with experience.
