Job description

We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at Medivet Sutton Farm.

Sutton Farm practice is in a fantastic location within Shrewsbury, close to amenities such as garden centre, supermarket, football ground, town centre and just a short 5-minute drive onto the M54 motorway.

The teams consists of 2 vets, 4 RVN's, 2 SVN's and 2 CCA's. The practice has excellent facilities including k- laser, separate dog and cat waiting areas and separate dog and cat kennels, ultrasonography, full complement of lab machines including an Imagyst.

Sutton Farm works closely with our 24hr hospital who covers OOH provision and accepts referral work for us. They also have a CT, endoscope, dental x-ray and offer hydro/physiotherapy should a pet need it.

This role is full time working 40 hours per week with 1 in 6 weekends at Shrewsbury 24 Hour.

• Deliver exceptional clinical care to your patients during consultations and procedures.
• Provide exceptional care to your clients, giving clear updates on patients.
• Deliver professional excellence, observing the highest standards of regulatory, practice and operational compliance.
• Prepare tailored, accurate treatment and care plans for each patient with clear cost estimates.
• Engage, mentor and develop your team, enhancing their skills and utilising these in the most effective way.
• Complete clinical handover and arrange transfer of any patient needing out of hours or enhanced care.
• Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice within and across practices and the wider Medivet community.

Your Skills and Experience

• RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
• Experienced in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients.
• Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
• Able to demonstrate clinical leadership skills.
• Experience of implementing a progressive clinical culture.
• Experience of supporting nurse consults and schedule 3 procedures, with an understanding of how this contributes to clinic performance and efficiency.
• Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
