Veterinary Surgeon – Independent Small Animal Practice in Cheshire
Their flagship RCVS-accredited hospital is located in the district of Cuddington, Cheshire. They are a nurse training practice, a gold-standard ISFM cat-friendly clinic, and home to advanced diagnostic and surgical facilities including two theatres, a dental suite with radiography, IDEXX lab equipment (including Sedivue and EPOC), DR x-ray, ultrasound, video endoscopy, and laparoscopy.
They also have a purpose-built branch just outside Northwich, which opened four years ago, mirroring the same high standard of care. Overnight inpatients are transferred to the hospital for 24/7 nursing support.
They’re looking for a compassionate, proactive veterinary surgeon to join a dynamic team. You'll work a 4-day week, with a 1:8 weekend rota and no out-of-hours, other than shared inpatient care (1:8 nights). Enjoy two lieu days for weekends worked and structured admin time.
Their ideal candidate will have 12+ months’ experience, be confident with routine soft tissue surgery, and capable of independent case work-ups. Further development is encouraged, making this a perfect opportunity for vets starting or pursuing a certificate.
You’ll be part of an 8-vet team including Advanced Practitioners in Anaesthesia, Medicine, and ECC, alongside a Diplomate orthopaedic surgeon. Visiting specialists in soft tissue, cardiology, and imaging ensure a varied and exciting caseload.
A nursing team of 14 (including RVNs, SVNs, and ECC certificate holders) is exceptional – led by a DipAVN and central to our care model.
Easily commutable within 30 minutes from Manchester, close to Runcorn, Warrington, Frodsham, and surrounding areas. They offer a fulfilling career in a collaborative, caring environment, close to leisure spots like Delamere and other rural areas.
