Tempus Recruitment is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon for a corporately owned small animal GP practice in Nuneaton. You will manage a varied GP caseload with a focus on medical and surgical cases, work under supportive leadership, and have opportunities to develop certificates.
Typical hours are 9:00–17:00 or 11:00–19:00, 1 in 3 Saturdays 9–17, with flexible arrangements for the right candidate. The practice is RCVS accredited with strong client care and a welfare-first culture.
Our Client is a corporately owned practice and operates a multi-award-winning small animal GP practice in Nuneaton that is looking for a new Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. The practice offers a varied medical and surgical caseload within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
This is ideally a full-time role with shift patterns of 9:00am–5:00pm and 11:00am–7:00pm, including 1 in 3 Saturdays from 9:00am–5:00pm. The practice is open to discussing flexible working arrangements for the right candidate. Consultations are 20 minutes as standard, with the last appointment at 6:30pm to ensure timely finishes. Protected lunch breaks, admin time and tea breaks are built into the diary. There are no out-of-hours requirements.
The Veterinary Surgeon will manage a varied GP caseload covering both medical and surgical cases. You will be encouraged to work cases up to a high clinical standard while maintaining strong client communication and patient welfare. The practice supports clinical autonomy and certificate development, and you will work closely with experienced leadership including a Vet GDP advisor and certificate holders. Confidence in sole charge is required, alongside a collaborative approach within a supportive team culture.
You will join a team led by two experienced practice owners, supported by a Practice Manager, an additional Veterinary Surgeon, a strong team of Registered Veterinary Nurses, a Veterinary Care Assistant and three Client Care Advisors. The practice fosters a friendly, collaborative and wellbeing-focused working environment.
The practice is modern and purpose-built, located within a thriving retail environment with excellent amenities and transport links nearby. Facilities include the expected GP diagnostic and surgical equipment, alongside a Cryopen for cryotherapy procedures. The practice is RCVS accredited, Silver Cat Friendly, RWAF accredited and operates under the Practice Standards Scheme.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with strong all-round GP skills and confidence in sole charge.
