Job description

My client in Nuneaton is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join its established practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a vet who wants to work somewhere their ideas, professional development and contribution are genuinely valued.

The practice has a loyal and expanding client base and was thoughtfully designed by the experienced Partner and team to provide an excellent environment for both patients and the team. The friendly, community-focused practice has a strong ethos of caring for its patients, clients and colleagues, supported by modern facilities, an experienced team and a varied first-opinion caseload.

The Role

The position would suit a Veterinary Surgeon with at least two years' experience and solid all-round clinical skills. The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced team of Veterinary Surgeons and RVNs, managing a diverse caseload while having plenty of scope to develop areas of particular clinical interest.

A particular interest in medicine would be welcomed, complementing the practice's existing surgical strengths, although vets with other areas of interest are equally encouraged to apply. The team is committed to helping its vets build their skills and will provide opportunities to develop professionally alongside colleagues with a wealth of experience.

The role is based around a four-day working week with 1 in 6 weekend duties.

Modern Facilities and Varied Caseload

The practice benefits from excellent equipment and a partner who is an RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Surgery. The facilities allow the team to manage a broad range of medical and surgical cases and provide plenty of opportunities for clinical development.

Equipment includes digital and dental radiography, laparoscopy, rigid and flexible endoscopy, colour Doppler ultrasound and ECG. The practice also has extensive orthopaedic equipment, including the capability to perform regular TPLO procedures, as well as in-house intra-articular therapy and access to Zoetis AI Imagyst, alongside other modern diagnostic and treatment facilities.

This makes the practice particularly well suited to a vet who enjoys a varied caseload and wants to continue expanding their clinical knowledge and practical skills.

The practice places considerable importance on creating a positive and supportive working environment. Colleagues work collaboratively, share their knowledge and genuinely look out for one another, while maintaining a strong focus on delivering excellent patient and client care.

The successful candidate will ideally be compassionate, approachable and enthusiastic, with a genuine commitment to high clinical standards. They will enjoy working as part of a close-knit team, take pride in creating a positive client experience and be keen to continue learning and progressing throughout their career.

Above all, the practice is looking for someone who wants to become part of a team where patients, clients and colleagues are all treated with care and respect.
