Job Description

Our Client is a corporately owned practice seeking a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join their established and supportive team.

This role is full-time, working 4 days per week with a 1:3 half or 1:6 full weekend rota, offering a great balance between clinical leadership and personal time.

The practice is a bright, spacious and modern clinic with excellent facilities including two large consulting rooms, a fully equipped theatre with a surgical viewing window, in-house laboratory, digital x-ray, and laparoscopic equipment. The team is made up of a Registered Veterinary Nurse, Patient Care Assistants and a dedicated Client Care Assistant. The clinic benefits from a vibrant local community feel, with great transport links and amenities nearby, and access to advanced diagnostics and 24-hour hospital support.

The role involves leading the clinical team, providing exceptional care to patients and clients, managing surgical and medical cases, mentoring and developing team members, and working alongside the Practice Manager to drive clinical and commercial success. There is the opportunity to work towards Branch Partnership, allowing equity ownership and leadership of the clinic with full operational support.

The ideal candidate will be an RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon, confident in both medical and surgical cases, ideally with experience or an interest in laparoscopic procedures. Strong leadership skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to inspire and mentor others are essential. An ambition to progress into Branch Partnership is highly desirable.

The practice is equipped with a full in-house laboratory, digital x-ray, laparoscopic surgical facilities, a modern prep area, and seamless access to 24-hour support from the nearby hospital. Advanced diagnostic and specialist input is available for more complex cases.
