Medivet Beckenham 24 hour is a well established, multi-vet hospital. We're currently looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team with a strong orthopaedic bias. We have a dedicated night team who provide out of hours care to multiple practices across the region.

The newly refurbished hospital is well-equipped with ultrasound, digital x-ray, dental x-ray and endoscope, including laparoscopic equipment. We have two operation theatres, five consult rooms, separate dental room and imaging room. We have a dedicated cat ward, to ensure our feline patients are completely separated from dog kennels, with a separate waiting room and dedicated cat consulting rooms. In addition to our inhouse imaging service, we have Virtual Veterinary Service (VVS) support for remote specialist input in heart and abdominal ultrasounds.

We're a friendly and supportive team who works together to deliver outstanding patient care. Our hospital has a lovely client base who appreciate the personal and exceptional standard of care we provide.

As An Orthopaedic Vet You'll Have

  • Have expertise in fracture repair, joint surgery, and soft tissue orthopaedics
  • Be proficient in advanced techniques such as TPLO, TTA and arthroscopy
  • Have strong diagnostic skills, including imaging interpretation (X-ray, CT, MRI)
  • Be confident in performing laparoscopic procedures, including lap spays as well as soft tissue procedures and familiar with advance surgical techniques
  • Have a problem-solving mindset with excellent surgical precision and attention to detail
  • Confidence in managing complex cases and providing clear client communication

Beckenham has quick direct links into London – Thameslink, Southeastern and Southern Train Lines. We also have staff parking available.

  • Deliver exceptional clinical care to your patients during consultations and procedures.
  • Provide exceptional care to your clients, giving clear updates on patients.
  • Deliver professional excellence, observing the highest standards of regulatory, practice and operational compliance.
  • Prepare tailored, accurate treatment and care plans for each patient with clear cost estimates.
  • Engage, mentor and develop your team, enhancing their skills and utilising these in the most effective way.
  • Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice within and across practices and the wider Medivet community.

Your Skills And Experience

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
  • Experienced in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients.
  • Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
  • Able to demonstrate clinical leadership skills.
  • Experience of implementing a progressive clinical culture.
  • Experience of supporting nurse consults and schedule 3 procedures, with an understanding of how this contributes to clinic performance and efficiency.
  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
