Job description

Veterinary Surgeon – 29 hours – Salary up to £55,000 FTE

Super location, supportive team and a salary up to £55,000 FTE. Walton on Thames Vets4Pets are looking for a talented, personable vet to join our friendly team in our well-established and busy practice.

About us

We’re a welcoming team with many years of experience between us! Locally owned by Roger and Marina, certificate holder Roger opened Walton on Thames in 2016 before being joined by practice owner Marina who initially joined the practice on the graduate scheme in 2019, testament to the supportive working environment they continue to create for their team.

Our experienced practice owners are part of a vet team consisting of 3 vets on site every day and who are supported by a team of experienced nurses who utilise all their skills including schedule 3 work, and a team of non-clinical colleagues.

Marina and Emma our Practice Administrator are both Mental Health First Aiders, and the whole team are keen to help each other and get involved, holding regular practice meetings and clinical meetings too.

The practice itself is designed for more rewarding work. It’s equipped to a very high standard including Karl Storz laparoscopic equipment, dental X-Ray and a new SonoScape S9Pro ultrasound machine as well as boasting a dedicated colleague room consisting of kitchen facilities and additional office space.

The role

This rewarding position is part time, approximately 29 hours a week working Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and with just 1 in 4 Saturdays from 9am-6pm. There are no Sundays and there is no OOH required.

In joining our team and supporting a great community and client base, we are looking for a confident vet with a broad range of GP skills. We are lucky to have a varied caseload, so you’ll be confident in all aspects of everyday small animal medicine and surgery.

As well as strong clinical skills, we’re also looking for someone skilled in building strong relationships with patients and clients, as well as someone who thrives working as part of a great team.

The benefits
  • Salary between £44,000- £55,000 (DOE, FTE)
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Generous holiday allowance, increasing with service
  • Dedicated CPD allowance including funding towards certificates
  • Paid memberships
  • Exclusive company discounts and benefits
  • And there's more!

We’re very fortunate to be based just off the M25 in an attractive market town with great amenities and served by a wide range of public transport links, with London’s Clapham Junction just 20 minutes away.

Location: KT12 2SS

We take our inspiration from pets in embracing people from all walks of life, and we value, respect and celebrate difference.
