Sara and James are recruiting for an experienced full time or part time Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly team based in Crawley, West Sussex.
About us:
This is a fantastic chance to work within a supportive practice with an established client base. We are located inside a Pets at Home store on a retail park with Costa, Next, TK Maxx, M&S, and Tesco within walking distance. Ample parking is available, and there are good public transport links. Gatwick is within a 15-minute drive, and London can be reached in 40 minutes by train.
You will join a passionate team of 4 vets, 6 nurses, 2 SVN, 2 VCAs, 6 receptionists, and an experienced practice manager dedicated to delivering excellent care and service. Partners Sara Capone MRCVS (qualified in Bologna, Italy, 2014) and James Fowler MRCVS (qualified in Edinburgh, 2000) lead the team.
The team has diverse interests: Sara holds a Certificate in Small Animal Oncology and is completing a Certificate in Diagnostic Imaging. James has a Certificate in Small Animal Medicine and interests in surgery and exotics. The team includes both certificate holders and recent graduates.
Sara, as the JVP, works regularly in practice and supports ongoing development. Flexible roles (consult-only or surgical-only) and working patterns are available to suit individual preferences.
About you:
You should be approachable, able to build trusted relationships with patients, clients, and colleagues. Experienced vets should be comfortable with routine surgical and medical cases. The practice offers clinical freedom and a varied, loyal client base, allowing high-standard case work.
Full-time hours are 40 per week over 4 days with one fixed day off, plus weekend work on a 1.5 rota every 5 weeks (one full weekend plus one Saturday), with an extra day off after a full weekend. Part-time hours (minimum 30 hours/week) are also considered.
The practice is purpose-built and well-equipped with tools such as capnography, ECG, biochemistry, haematology, digital radiography, and ultrasound. Separate waiting areas for cats and dogs, and separate kennels, are available. Most clients are insured, enabling gold-standard treatment and thorough case work.
In return, Sara and James offer:
If you're interested in joining our close-knit, ambitious team and share our ethos, we'd love to hear from you!
