We’re looking for a talented and personable Veterinary Surgeon to join our fantastic team at Yate Vets for Pets on a fixed term, part time basis for maternity cover. Due to our growing team and practice, there is also the opportunity for this to become a permanent position.
About us
The practice is run locally by Kate and Keith who in turn are supported by a larger team totalling 6 vets including certificate holders, 6 RVNs, 1 SVNs, 3 VCAs, 5 Receptionists and a practice manager.
We are a family friendly, supportive and stable team and over the years we've taken on several graduates who are all still with us today, some 6 years on! Our strong nursing team are hands on with their support and skills including schedule 3 work, nurse consults, dentals and x-rays.
The practice also benefits from wider support across Vets for Pets, in addition to 2 onsite, trained Mental Health First Aiders, enabling the whole team to personalise the care on offer and ensuring that each member of the team has everything they need to provide the best level of care to the patients and clients in our community.
The role and you
Kate and Keith take real pride in their team and the supportive working environment they have created together and will support you in your new role, offering a bespoke induction, real flexibility and a workplace that respects your need for work life balance.
The team meet every afternoon for 10-15 minutes to discuss their day and any cases and there’s always help available.
We’re looking for a good all-rounder capable in consults and routine surgery, with consults given 15 minutes as standard and 30 minutes for more complex cases when required.
This is a part time role with minimal sole charge, working a 2-day week and with just 1 in 6 weekends, 8:30am-5:00pm Saturday and 10:00am-4:00pm Sunday. We can be flexible on what days/hours in the week you chose to work but it would involve one 7pm finish per week.
